Bucks become the new NBA champions

After a 6 exciting games on the NBA Finals the MVP finalist Giannis Antetokounmpo has won big against the Suns. Scoring 50 points on the last of a 6 game series vs a Suns team that has over achieved from last year, beating great teams like Lakers, Denver and Clippers.

Booker scoring 19 points and 5 assists and Chris Paul scoring 26 points and 5 assists they couldn’t really stand a chance against the super aggressive offense from Giannis and his 50 points and 14 rebounds.

Congratulations to the new NBA Champions and hope they have a great season next year where they would face a lot of super teams starting with the Nets, Sixers and other contenders from the east and the whole West conference battle to provide a new finalist.

Joey Crawford conspiracy

Don’t you love when a conspiracy is debunked, many of the LeBron haters been constantly hinting that LeBron fixes the games and that the NBA is behind it. All thanks to the referees, since most fans only know one name, they all try to use him for their memes. And that’s the birth of the Joey Crawford Conspiracy. Let’s face it, when LeBron loses, the haters are waaay to busy to remember who was the referee. But when he wins, oh boy, every single piece of the game is used to disqualify LeBron’s legacy.

However don’t you love when someone actually go into the numbers and tries to pull out the true stats? Well someone did in this case and the results couldn’t be more opposite to the myth.

Contrary to popular belief, James was winning percentage dropped by a pretty solid margin (from .669 to .521) in games in which Crawford was an official. Though it’s an admittedly small sample size, I would have to say that any notion of Crawford being biased towards James would have to be thrown out the window.

Stats of LBJ winning percentage on games where Joey Crawford officiate. Complete Opposite.
Stats of LBJ winning percentage on games where Joey Crawford officiate. Complete Opposite.

So in the end, memes such as Joey using LBJ team jersey as the 6th player on the floor. Or LeBron kneeling before Joey should be shoved with this stat.

In the end is no surprise that haters gonna hate. But at least we could make their hate more legitimate.

First post of the year

King demanding changes

Before it becomes too late, I want to make my first post of the year, hope more will come and start getting more content in this blog.

First thing my phone showed me as I was waking up  was a pretty bad news, LeBron James won’t be playing any games for the near future. Mainly because of a knee and back soreness that will have the king in suit for the start of the year.

A lot has been talked about LBJ and his ‘soreness’ and have been question that there is some friction between him and management. Last night I was listening to Jalen Rose during his show at Grantland when he mentioned a peculiar play where LBJ seemed to be a bit fed up and shoots a 3pt from midcourt area. Hence deciding to forget the play and just do his own personal in-game horse play. I tend to agree about it sent a signal specially after trying to do the same on the very next play.

Then the news article about him stating that he could walk off the team if things don’t start to look better, it means at least that he has a Championship or bust mentality.

It’s now clear that he is taking this seasons seriously and he wants to see some heads rolling before moving forward. Varejao’s injury might have been the drop that spill everything and without his favorite playmate, he is finding himself with a team on crutches.

Sure, is still early on the season, but this is exactly where decisions need to be made. Proof is the Rondo, and Josh Smith trades that gave Dallas and Houston a makeover. If someone big don’t replace Varejao soon, the Cavs might be facing many challenges from all angles.

I think that the Cavs will have to make something soon to keep Lebron happy, maybe dropping out of the 8th seeds will put the fire he needs for the administration to respond.

Heat about to take over

LeBron James
LeBron James driving to the basket over the tower of Roy Hibbert.

Interesting couple of weeks for Miami Heat – Indiana Pacers back to back match up over the weeks. They have been like two tales of the same movie. From the initial dominance of the team and then cooling off enough to finish the game loosing.

LeBron however was a story that started on the previous game wtih an accident on her ankle and a gametime decision whenever he would play or not. Of course many people knew he wouldn’t miss this game at all.

The game was excellent specially when you analyze how the Miami Heat came about, as the Pacers started dominating the tempo of the game.

Even if Miami was pick pocketing and generating turnovers like crazy, the real battle was at the foul chart. When Hibbert reached it’s 4th foul and got him out of the game, he was able to leave the basket and Flash really took advantage of it. The same goes to Bosh who step up and embraced his role and was able to outsmart Hibbert and take him out of the basket.

The most important part is that Miami is now breathing on the neck of the Pacers and could start the takeover of the east. With Oklahoma City doing the same on the west coast. The Thunder just much on the San Antonio Spurs and the only other team hanging at the top is the Blazers.

How the Heat can win the East

ImageSo Chicago Bulls lost to the Denver Nuggets and will probably do the same against the Portland Trail Blazers. They Lack size, and they seem out of sync. With Gibson being unstable, Rose being off on Defense, and just not enough offense against a homey team like Portland, Bulls don’t stand a chance. This will leave the Bulls 6-5, while Miami Heat with a very easy schedule next to Orlando Magic Phoenix Suns Cleveland Cavaliers and The Toronto Raptors could possibly end up with a 13-3 record and a good 9 game winning streak before going into December, where they will face Charlotte Bobcats The Detroit Pistons and finally the Bulls.

Of course Bulls will also have some winnable games like going back to Detroit to face the Pistons, Utah and Cleveland. But their outlook doesn’t look that good. On the flip side is Indiana Pacers who are also the other ‘big‘ threat to the Miami Heat, wont face them until the 10th of December.  With Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Bobcats, and Washington Wizards leaving only Minnesota Timberwolves becoming the only real threat.

The prospect records would be something like this:

  • Indiana Pacers: 14-1
  • Miami Heat: 13-3
  • Chicago Bulls: 6-5

Miami Heat slow start

So new season and the two time defending champion Miami Heat was great. The new season is a bit slow and there are some talk about being a bit out of rhythm and chemistry. However LeBron and Wade are pretty much on top physical shape and I think once they glue better they will also be unstoppable like always.

Miami however would and should be coasting and don’t really  need to have another streak. At least not yet. After all media would be media but the real test comes when they reach the playoffs.

Miami has indeed show up against the stronger teams like the Clippers, Bulls, and even Brooklyn, but the smaller teams like Celtics, 76ers, and others have been rather relaxed.

Personally I think that this is something that doesn’t need to pay as much attention until we can get some real playoff positioning. The most important thing is to preserve health.

Miami can take it easy as long as they gain/preserve health.

NBA is back, Miami Heat vs Atlanta

Yesterday the first game of the Miami Heat. With the awesome plays of Chris Bosh and a couple of highlights by LeBron. Even if it was just a pre-season game, it was a pretty awesome matchup.

From the start Miami remind the Hawks what Heat was all about last year. Stretching leads almost to 22 pts and with the a 4th quarter benched LeBron, this looks like the continuation of what last year game plan was.

Chris Bosh showed up with spinning moves and dunks and making 15 pts for the first half of the game, he errased his doubts of the 0pts performance on that last game. The boy can and will score.

Miami didn’t played Wade nor Birdman, UD and his new premier faces like Michael Beasely and Greg Oden. But they did show up and they did squashed the Hawks.

From Atlanta’s part they did played the Utah imported Paul Milsap. And he looked okay, he will definetly find himself accomodated with Al Harford on their front court.

The LeBron Show

Lebronlaughing

LeBron has been putting great numbers and an amazing season. Not only a Clean game with a streak of 0 fouls but also an effective one, making history becoming the first player to score more than 20pt and more than 60% efficiency.

Tonight th LeBron game will come to Oklahoma City face his 2012 finals opponent — Kevin Durant.

Expectation is miles high, and we’ll see how we come into the All Star Break.

Hiphop, sea and basketball

Beach

Today, I had a very nice dream, full of strange beauty, basketball and hiphop. I don’t remember the whole dream but what I do remember is being in Cancun, with friends, while I watch my friend practicing his rhymes. One of them just go off as some girls come by and just see my friend clown around while spitting rhymes. But he starts clowining too much and the girl loose interest and start talking to me. I actually have something to say, she is interested enough till she slip her facebook on my phone and leave.

Then we end up half drunk and staring at the black sky near the beach, it’s so calm that we dont see a wave in the dark sea at night. And the reflection of some lights ont he horizon make the distance be so short that the whole sea looks like a set. No waves, big palm trees in the island and some sort of light at the horizon. Everything look very fake and cartoonish.

Then not sure why I start getting dissy and I go back to the place we are staying. Plus my friends who were really drunk kinda pass out and I think they threw one of them in the water, because he come back all pissed and soaked to his last bone.

Basketball-playground1-e1310751025418

Then we go to the basketball court playground and start playing 3 on 3. I got my Jordan white Bulls Jersey and shorts. I started playing kinda clumsy but much better than the rest, then Shaq comes out of the crew, but he doenst want to play that much, just enough passing to get his team involved. But for some reason I am always with the ball even when I shoot I miss but recover my own rebound and score. Then I start getting more loose and try to dribble more close to the ground and do crossovers. Eventually we win the 2 rounds of 3 on 3. Pleople start noticing me and cheer on me.

Then the next team comes in with Barkley in the squad, as I start thinking on ways how to take them I wake up. At least I feel good and fun about this dream.

Miami Heat finding their identity

Jamesdunk_103112

LeBron and Co. send a statement to the league saying they are ready for the season. With some powerful backcourt and depth, Miami showed a bit of what this team can do by taking apart the Phoenix Suns last night.

With another great game from Bosh that came out of a career high game scoring 40 points. This time around the outcome was emphatic winning by 25 points.

This team is back on to become the number one in the league.

The funny side however has been the rather odd night in New York and a deep feeling of friendly fire was left after that win by the Knicks. It wasn’t only me but the great NBA Memes start exposing similar thoughts. A thought of, can you donate a ‘W’?

And of course the great one…
