Back from NL

So yesterday I had a whole day trip back home, it was a bit long and tiring, but I finally landed to Cancun and got straight to bed. I find out my internet was gone, but was so tired that even fixing the modem was a bit of a hassle.

Now that I am back I also learned that the trip I made wasn’t as good as I first thought. Which is kind of a huge disapointment. I couldnt really understand what happened but it seems the whole trip was trap, which I did thought about it at some point.

To be honest, I wasnt expecting such a blow back, at least not that fast. I am not sure what happened but seems that this was a very bad idea. Then again in the end I have to say I did enjoy myself, I got what I was looking for, a change of scenery, reuniting with old friends, and just a time to think about things ahead of me.

Now I think there will be a lot of acomodating things so I can resolve my inmediate issues. Hope it all goes well.

Hypeman of the night

Today I dream about being the hypeman for my man Zabio aka Pakal. The dream started with all his crew trying to gather up for the gig. The gig consisted on having a public concert and from what we gather we need to pay the city a percentage for us to let us use the square.

The concert actually started with just a small circle of people, you couldn’t tell if it was them or our supporting crew.

Eventually people started gathering and I started rhyming or rhyme speaking to introduce him up. He was going to rhyme the whole album, on a Rock the Bells fashion, as the classic and a couple of songs from his new album.

In the crew I started recognizing a lot of our friends who were giving us props, I start with the introduction to his performance and routine. Giving a background to each of the songs, and even quoting some of his verses. It wasnt like a lesson per say, but it was melded with a reflection of the meaning of the song that was helpful to context the space of the rhyme.

I think it was a great thing, but I think it felt so real that I might as well been talking while I was dreaming this.

I eventually woke up wtih my mind full of oneliners and punchlines for some of my favorite tracks of that album,

Ready for Europe

I am about to get on a plane to visit a long time friend that I have met since forever. But is also intersting how long I have taken to be back in Europe. Its those things you dont notice till you stal making the numbers. These past 2 years I have been traveling more to sotuh and north america than to Europe. However, it has been great the way things have been developed lately.

I mean I have been able to go anywhere I wanted, and even if there has been troubles along the way, it has never got to the point of true desperation.

Is not a fear of being broke, is the fear of not finding something strong enough to continue. However, this trip to europe I plan to make something worth it and help my cause and not just be aliability. So far I am very excited, confident and even eager to have a great time.

After a shitty xmass and new year I think I can make this count for good.

Now on the NL, well I love that country to be honest, is those countries that makes u feel like ur in the right place. Then again this comes from the vision of always chilling there during the summer time and everything is litten and people are everywhere. We’ll see how winter change things.

I’ll be chillin there for 10 days so is not so long that gets depressing or short that seems like a one night stand.

OpenOffice Development Documentation

Soon I will be doing some training about OpenOffice development. This gave me a chance to understand the way the office suite is configured and it’s documentation and support. The development of large communities like OpenOffice means that it’s pretty wide spread and there are bits and pieces from different  areas.

Since Sun was the original sponsor of the Suite most of the efforts went to their own language, which was Java, but there was also a strong community of Python developers as well as even Microsoft VBA developers that build bridges for C# and VBA through COM sockets.

One thing that I have been thinking about for a while is about the way documentation specially of things like the API should be treated like a live document. Not a wiki exactly but something that could be annotated.

So I made a petition to enhance the documentation with an annotation system that allow users to contribute with snippets. Here is an example of the comment posts showing on the documentation.
